JointCare is a truly engaging and patient-driven system for clinical treatment management

JointCare puts the patient in control of recording essential clinical information when recovering from illness or injury and maintaining health gains. The patient owns the records and can allow medical staff, family members or trusted friends to view them as part of medical treatment and wider support.

The key benefits offered by the JointCare app include

• practical design and ease of use;
• patients can either self-record or link with their choice of doctors or helpers;
• underpinned and validated by over six years of full NHS usage;
• reducing travel and time off work for clinical appointments;
• scheduled and immediate chat or videolink with clinicians;
• immediate reporting of flares to doctors for rapid response;
• clear progress graphs;
• at-a-glance prescription information and updates;
• high data encryption security fully accepted within the NHS; and
• encouraging patient commitment and ownership of conditions.

Every patient and doctor who has used JointCare has used it enthusiastically and beneficially. Typical feedback includes “JointCare app has saved me dozens of painful car journeys and hours of work time lost and I get even quicker feedback from my doctors than when I sat in clinic waiting rooms.  It’s a life changer.”  and  “It’s so easy to use. The surveys are easy to send off and I can ask for advice right away if I have a flair in my condition.  My consultant can change my treatment within hours without having to wait days for a clinic visit.”

Patients benefit from the rapid response that doctors and their teams can give on their updates. JointCare also provides secure patient-clinician videolink consultation sessions, meaning that doctors and patients need only arrange clinic visits for essential physical examination.

All patient data held in the JointCare database is secure and encrypted to bank level standards, meeting all of the NHS’s data security requirements. Importantly for patients, their data is totally owned by them. If you use JointCare as one of those patients, you own and control your data under GDPR’s strict rules, so only the people you select can see your information.

You can record your own progress without linking with doctors if you prefer, using well established medical questionnaire techniques together with personal journal notes and diary entries.

JointCare’s role is to establish this facility and enable patients to take charge of their treatment records. JointCare’s goal is to create a service that runs in parallel with our brilliant NHS and is driven by doctors and their patients – challenging some corporations charging as much as £300 million per Hospital Trust to install a record-keeping package.

With people power, we can produce another UK First; provide a superb service to the NHS and patients alike; and show that spending billions may be completely unnecessary.
